Our store opened on July 27th in 2006. The store is owned by Chris and John Martin, longtime residents of Longmont. Way back in 2005 after buying a bunch of Hockey gear for our son at the Ft.Collins Play It Again Sports store, Chris looked at John and said “Why don’t we open one of these stores in Longmont?” The suggestion made perfect sense and after little research and a lot of prayer, we plunged into the process of starting up a business from scratch.
Our philosophy for running a business is to focus on three things:

- Customer Service
No, that is not a typo or a canned, false promise. We really believe that providing the best customer service in the sporting goods market will make our store a success. We don’t put up with crumby service when we shop or dine and we promise you the best shopping experience when you’re in need of sporting goods or fitness equipment.
All our kids (Anne, Peter and Sam) work at the store when they aren’t tied up with volleyball, hockey and lacrosse. In addition, our other employees (Andy, Brent, Steve and Timmy) are all active athletes with great product knowledge and they are pretty much like family to us. We hope ysou’ll sense a family atmosphere when you enter our store.
We are a family-run business and proud to live in Longmont. That said, we do our best to support and give back to our community by sponsoring local sports and school organizations. Check out our “Community Links” page to see some of the organizations that we support and to whom we are affiliated.
A lot of people think Play It Again Sports sells only used merchandise. The fact is, about 80% of our sales are NEW products. The other 20% is quality used gear that our customers have brought in to trade or sell. There are some really great deals on this used equipment, but our prices on new stuff are as good or better than you’ll find at other sporting goods stores!
